Parents On Campus

Franklin adheres to the Corona-Norco Unified School District’s Volunteer Application Process. For more information, please visit the District’s website. The District recently updated parent volunteer policies and volunteers are welcomed back to campus. Below is what was included in the District’s newsletter. In addition, the link to parent volunteer information can be found on the district website with the Volunteer Application Form and Covid Addendum found at the bottom of the page:

Prior to gaining access to the classroom, volunteers must adhere to the District's COVID-19 safety protocols by filling out a Volunteer Form.  These forms can be requested at your school's front office or downloaded from the District's website under the 'Parents' section.

Please note that the five requirements for volunteering less than four hours per week are:

Complete the Volunteer Application form.
Provide a valid government photo identification.
Verification of Megan’s Law s
Submit proof of a negative TB, chest X-Ray, or Risk Assessment results. Must be current within 60 days of submitting the volunteer application and are valid for four
Fingerprint clearance (more than four hours).

Teachers have the discretion to coordinate volunteers as needed to support the instructional program for their classrooms.

Parents and children not enrolled at Ben Franklin are not permitted on the playground at any time.  Any concerns that a parent may have regarding a child other than their own must be brought to the attention of the administration.  Parents may not speak to another child regarding any incident between their own child and another student.  By approaching a child on or off campus, you violate his/her rights to be safe and secure and open yourself to possible criminal charges of assault.  Since parents have no authority over any other parents or children, you must address your concerns through school officials who do have the authority and responsibility for seeing that issues concerning students are properly addressed.  

The following may not be used on campus and are not permitted tape recorders; cell phones; electronic devices; and any other item making noise.  Preschool or other children not enrolled at our school may not accompany parent visitors or helpers to classrooms but may attend award assemblies, class presentations, and plays to see siblings.
