Arrival/Dismissal

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

Arrival Procedures

Students are to arrive on time and remain in school for the duration of the school day.  School instruction begins at 8:45 a.m.  The 1st bell for students to line-up rings at 8:40 a.m.  A child arriving late after 8:45 a.m. is tardy.  A truancy is recorded when a child arrives more than 30 minutes late. Parents and guardians are welcome to drop off in the front of the school or at the back gate.

In the front of the school, please use Lane 1 for Drop Off. All cars should pull all the way forward to the crosswalk. Students may exit cars on the right side only. We ask that adults remain in their cars when dropping off students, this assists with the flow  of traffic. We appreciate our parents driving courteously and carefully to protect all of our lightning bolts. Lane 2 is utilized for exiting the parking lot. Lane 3 will be open for parking. Use crosswalks at all times for crossing the lanes. Student valets for greeting and assisting children from exiting cars.

Any student arriving after school begins must report to the office to get a tardy slip before going to class.

Most students with special needs that receive special education transportation services will enter through the gate under the supervision of their teacher.

Dismissal Procedures

As with morning drop-off, students may get picked up at the back gate, the front of the school, take the bus, or walk home.

If students are picked up in front of the school, students will wait on the grass. Students may load from the curb only. Please use the crosswalk at all times for crossing the lanes.

Parents may park on the side parking lot. It is recommended that parents back into those spaces for safety reasons when exiting. Please wait on the sidewalk instead of the grass.

The front parking loop is for buses and licensed daycare vehicles only.

All children not picked up within 15 minutes of school dismissal must be signed out by an adult of the office.   Students that have not been picked up on time will be held near the front of the office. The Corona Police Department may be contacted if a parent/guardian is not available and the child is not picked up in a timely manner.
