Close Reading
The students are being trained how to read closely when they read. When children "close read" they need to annotate the text. The link below is a poster of the annotating marks the students will use when they "close read" at Ben Franklin. The purpose of "Close Reading" is to have the students dig deeper into the text and think deeper about what they are reading.
